Change of Clinical IT System
During the period 22nd-30th April, the Surgery will be moving all patient medical records to a new clinical IT system. During this period it is likely that there will be significant disruption to the provision of services, with a need to reduce the number of available appointments, cease the reauthorization of repeat medications and limit the number of all other patient contacts i.e. telephone consultations. This reduction in service provision will be managed in a way that will have minimal impact and urgent/emergency appointments will be available throughout the transition period.
Over the next few weeks, those patients requesting repeat medication may find that they are prescribed twice the normal amount of medicines to cover an increased period, which will provide us with a transition period of limited activity in terms of prescribing and allow for effective data transfer and data checking.
We apologise in advance if you are effected by any disruptions to our service during the above period, but they are unfortunately unavoidable and necessary. This change will ultimately lead to improved patient record management and provide our clinicians with an increased suite of tools to assist with clinical diagnosis and treatment.

Extended Hours Directed Enhanced Service
We will no longer be providing extended hours at the Practice, however see below. Our new opening hours will be:
Monday to Friday: 08:30 – 18:30 Saturday & Sunday: Closed
Extended Access Primary Care Programme commenced on 1st September whereby evening and weekend appointments will be available across Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire. Appointments for the Extended Access Service must be booked through the Practice, so please call our Reception to book an appointment. Clinic's are available every evening and at weekends at the following locations:

We are introducing an initiative to help people to find the most appropriate source of help when they call our Practice or pop in to make an appointment.
This means that our specially trained Reception staff may ask questions about why appointments are required.
You are not obliged to answer the questions they ask, however by doing so we can make sure that those people who really need to see a GP can see them as soon as possible.
Virtually everyone who calls to make an appointment asks to see a GP, but very often help will be available more quickly from other highly skilled medical professionals such as Nurses or Pharmacists, or from other services, including the voluntary sector, they can support people with a wide range of social, emotional or practical needs.
Our trained Reception staff will be able to offer you the most appropriate help using the range of information they have access to.

'Ask NHS' app – get involved
Have you used the new Ask NHS App? We want to hear from you! ‘Ask NHS' provides you with improved access to NHS 111 and your local NHS services. You can talk through your symptoms in complete confidence with Nurse Olivia, a virtual nurse. If needed, Olivia will arrange for a call back from a 111 Nurse to discuss your symptoms further. You can also search NHS approved healthcare advice, schedule GP appointments and search opening times/locations of local healthcare services.
